Stubblefield set to join Salem College Soccer Staff

Head Soccer Coach Jay Callahan announced the appointment of John Stubblefield as an assistant coach for the Salem College soccer program.

Winston-Salem, NC- Head Soccer Coach Jay Callahan announced the appointment of John Stubblefield as an assistant coach for the Salem College soccer program.

Stubblefield comes to Salem with a wealth of coaching experience on the high school, club, and Olympic Development Program (ODP) levels. He has been the head coach for the varsity team at Calvary Baptist High School in Winston-Salem for ten years, where he has a 125-42-12 record. He also led his team to back to back NCISAA 2A State Championships in 2009 and 2010, and the team has just earned their tenth consecutive state tournament appearance.

Stubblefield is a three-time Triad Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. He has also served as the Assistant Athletic Director from 2002 to 2009 at Calvary, and he teaches Social Studies.

Stubblefield has also worked with the Twin City Youth Soccer Association for the past five years. He currently coaches the 93 Lady Twins Blue and 94 Lady Twins Silver, and he is a NC Soccer Fusion staff coach. He also is a NC ODP staff coach and Stubblefield has worked at the Wake Forest University Soccer Camp for the past several summers.

He graduated from High Point University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in History, and from UNC-Greensboro with a Masters of Art in History in 2008. He lives in Winston-Salem with his wife (Sara) and their one-year-old daughter (Darby).
