Soccer set for GSAC semifinals ranked in the top 25 in all NCAA national team statistics

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College soccer team will travel to Demorest, GA this weekend for the Great South Athletic Conference Tournament as the two seed. Salem will play the tournament host, Piedmont College, on November 5th at 6:45 in the second semifinals match. Salem finished the regular season with a school record 15-2 overall record, and 6-1 in the GSAC.
Salem and Piedmont met earlier this season on October 9th at Piedmont, and Salem pulled off a 1-0 victory in an extremely close match. The two teams went back and forth the whole match before Tia Bringhurst (Hurricane, UT) scored the matches only goal in the 79th minute. Maryville will play Agnes Scott in the first semifinal match on the 5th. The two semifinal winners will play in the championship game on November 6th at 4:30 at Piedmont.
Salem finished the regular season with an impressive top 25 national ranking in every major NCAA Division III team statistical ranking. The team finished the regular season with the 3rd highest scoring offense in the country (4.35 goals per game). They finished 24th in the DIII in goals against average (0.517 per game), 22nd in shutout percentage (0.647 per game), 12th in Won-Lost-Tied percentage (0.882%), and 9th in save percentage (0.909%).
