Soccer remains undefeated with 11-0 win against Peace

The Salem College soccer team improved to 2-0 on the season with a victory against Peace College in the Meredith College Matchup. Salem used goals from eight different players to defeat the Pacers 11-0. The Spirits will return to action tomorrow against Meredith for the championship of the classic.

meganstandRaleigh, NC-The Salem College soccer team improved to 2-0 on the season with a victory against Peace College in the Meredith College Matchup. Salem used goals from eight different players to defeat the Pacers 11-0. The Spirits will return to action tomorrow against Meredith for the championship of the classic. Salem improves to 2-0 on the season.

Erica Edwards (Clayton, NC), Tia Bringhurst (Hurricane, UT), and Amanda Orsino (Sauquoit, NY) each scored two goals for the Spirits. Edwards and Bringhurst each scored a goal in the first five minutes of the match. Heather Hawthorne (Benson, AZ) finished off the first half scoring for the Spirits to give them a 5-0 lead at the break.

Megan Lisle (Lawrenceville, GA), Kaitlyn Horner (Elkhart, IN), Kellie Younger (Ledyard, CT) and Bethany Kent (Manassas, VA) also scored goals for Salem. Courtney Sauer (Carthage, NC) had two assists for the Spirits, and Bringhurst added one assist. Logan Rost (Lawrenceburg, TN), Samantha Hubbard (Sanford, NC), Alexi Saganich (McLeansville, NC), and Mackenzie Schmidt (Columbus, OH) added assists. Jazmine Bridgeman (Mill Springs, NC) and Cassy Khouri (Canyon Country, CA) split time in the goal for the shutout.
