Soccer loses in very close GSAC semifinal match

The Salem College soccer team lost 1-0 to Piedmont College in the Great South Athletic Conference semifinals hosted by Piedmont College. Piedmont scored the only goal of the match in the 55th minute. Salem finishes their season with a school record 15-3 record, and with a second place GSAC regular season finish.

Demorest, GA-The Salem College soccer team lost 1-0 to Piedmont College in the Great South Athletic Conference semifinals hosted by Piedmont College. Piedmont scored the only goal of the match in the 55th minute. Salem finishes their season with a school record 15-3 record, and with a second place GSAC regular season finish.

Anna Trakas (Tryon, NC) had Salem's best opportunity of the game in the 10th minute when she followed an Alexi Saganich (McLeansville, VA) shot, but her shot was cleared off of the line. Trakas was also injured on the play and unable to return. After the Piedmont goal, Salem was unable to capitalize on any of their attempts in the final 35 minutes. Jazmine Bridgeman (Mill Spring, NC) finished the night with 9 saves in goal.

Courtney Sauer (Carthage, NC) and Kim Wisen (Madison, OH) both finished stellar careers at Salem with great games.
