Soccer improves to 4-1 in GSAC and 11-2 overall with win

The Salem College soccer team won their last home match of the season in a Great South match against LaGrange College, 3-1. Alexi Saganich (McLeansville, NC) had 2 goals and an assist in the win. The Spirits also celebrated two seniors, Courtney Sauer (Carthage, NC) and Kim Wisen (Madison, OH), in the victory. Salem improves to 11-2 overall and 5-1 in the Great South.

tiaalexiWinston-Salem, NC-The Salem College soccer team won their last home match of the season in a Great South match against LaGrange College, 3-1. Alexi Saganich (McLeansville, NC) had 2 goals and an assist in the win. The Spirits also celebrated two seniors, Courtney Sauer (Carthage, NC) and Kim Wisen (Madison, OH), in the victory. Salem improves to 11-2 overall and 4-1 in the Great South. 

Brittany Gray scored for LaGrange on a direct kick in the 15th minute. Salem quickly rebounded with a goal by Tia Bringhurst (Hurricane, UT) 8 minutes later, which was assisted by Saganich. The goal was Bringhurst's fourth game winning goal in a row. Saganich would score her first goal in the 35th minute on an assist by Bringhurst. 

Saganich put the game out of reach in the 84th minute off of an assist by Anna Trakas (Tryon, NC). Salem outshot LaGrange 24-3, and had a 6-1 corner kick advantage.
