Soccer defeats Warren Wilson 6-0 to improve to 4-1

The Salem College soccer team used four goals in the first nineteen minutes to cruise to a 6-0 home win against Warren Wilson. Alexi Saganich (McLeansville, NC) scored a hat trick for the Spirits in the game. Salem improves to 4-1 on the season with the win.

tiaalexiWinston-Salem, NC-The Salem College soccer team used four goals in the first nineteen minutes to cruise to a 6-0 home win against Warren Wilson. Alexi Saganich (McLeansville, NC) scored a hat trick for the Spirits in the game. Salem improves to 4-1 on the season with the win.

Erica Edwards (Clayton, NC) got the scoring started in the 5th minute with a goal assisted by Mackenzie Schmidt (Columbus, OH). Tia Bringhurst (Hurricane, UT) scored less than two minutes later on an unassisted goal. Saganich added her first goal in the 15th minute on an unassisted goal, and she would score three minutes later off of an assist by Schmidt. 

Salem started the second half with two quick goals. Saganich scored her final goal less than three minutes into the second half with a pass by Anna Trakas (Tryon, NC). Trakas would finish the scoring three minutes later with an unassisted goal. Jazmine Bridgeman (Mill Springs, NC) and Cassy Khouri (Canyon Country, CA) each played a half in goal for Salem to combine for the shutout. Salem led in shots 21-4.

Salem returns to action at home on Tuesday the 21st when they host Peace College at 4:00.
