McCormack set to join Salem College Soccer Staff

Head Soccer Coach Jay Callahan announced the appointment of Sara McCormack as an assistant coach for the Salem College soccer program. McCormack will also work as the Fitness Center Director for the College, and as a Residential Life Director for Salem Academy.

saramcWinston-Salem, NC- Head Soccer Coach Jay Callahan announced the appointment of Sara McCormack as an assistant coach for the Salem College soccer program. McCormack will also work as the Fitness Center Director for the College, and as a Residential Life Director for Salem Academy.

McCormack just finished an excellent career at Pfeiffer University in North Carolina for the NCAA Division II program as a four year letterer and 2010 team captain. McCormack was selected to the North Carolina All-State Team in 2010, and to the All-South Region Team in 2009 as a defender. She was All-Conference Carolinas First-Team for the past two years, and helped lead Pfeiffer to the NCAA DII Tournament twice.

McCormack was on the Dean's List, Presidential Honor Roll, and a Scholar Athlete for all four years at Pfeiffer. She was the 2008 and 2009 Women's Soccer Representative for the Student Athlete Advisory Council at Pfeiffer, and was selected as a 2011 Pfeiffer University Who's Who Among American College and University Nominee.

Over the past several years, McCormack has also collected coaching experience in several areas. She recently was the UNC Charlotte Women's Soccer Intern for this past spring. She worked in the Sports Information Office for two years at Pfeiffer, and has coached at two middle schools and two high schools while playing at Pfeiffer.

She graduated with a Sports Management Major, and with a minor in Business Administration and Athletic Coaching. McCormack is originally from Concord, NC.
