Gaither's Carter commits to play soccer at Salem

The Salem College soccer program is excited to announce that Jessica Carter has committed to attend Salem next fall. Carter played varsity soccer for four years for Coach Trevor Scott at Gaither High School in Lutz, FL. The Salem soccer team is coming off a 15-3 season, and a second-place regular season Great South Athletic Conference finish in 2010.

Carter played varsity soccer for four years for Coach Trevor Scott at Gaither High School in Lutz, FL. The Salem soccer team is coming off a 15-3 season, and a second-place regular season Great South Athletic Conference finish in 2010.

Carter, a goalkeeper, played 7 years of club soccer for FC Tampa. She played the last two years for coach George Arroyo at FC Tampa. She also was a member of HC United out of Tampa for two years. The Gaither Cowboys finished this season with a 12-6-2 record.

Carter has been a very strong student at Gaither in her four years. She has been on the high honor roll and the principal honor roll. She is also involved on the leadership team for the HOSA club and in the photography club. She plans to major in pre-med at Salem. Carter is the daughter of Jill and Michael Carter.

Salem College is a NCAA Division III institution located in Winston-Salem, NC. Salem is the oldest educational institution for women in the United States, and was founded in 1772.
