Floyd E. Kellam's Eggers commits to play soccer at Salem College

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College soccer program is excited to announce that Becca Eggers committed to attend Salem next fall. Eggers played for Coach Mario Hurdle and Coach Kerri Land at Floyd E. Kellam High School in Virginia Beach, VA. She also played club soccer for seven years with Beach Football Club. Salem is coming off of a 12-7-1 season in 2009, and a trip to the Great South Athletic Conference semi-finals.
Eggers was selected for the All-District Academic team while at Kellam, and she helped the team to the 2009 and 2010 high school districts. She was also a part of the '92 Beach FC Piranhas that finished as the seventh-ranked team in Virginia. Eggers spent time with the Super-Y Southern Regional Team.
Eggers had an excellent academic career at Kellam. She was a member of the National Honor Society, and won national recognition in a national Russian writing contest. She also spent time as a member of the French Club, the Russian Club, and the Scholastic Bowl team. Eggers plans to major in International Relations at Salem, and she is the daughter of Eileen and Curtis Eggers.
Salem College is a NCAA Division III institution located in Winston-Salem, NC. Salem is the oldest educational institution for women in the United States, and was founded in 1772. The institution boasts a proud history of fostering independence in women. Salem was recently ranked number 67 in Forbes magazines second annual ranking of America's 600 best colleges, and as Forbes' number fourteen in their "America's Best College Buys" Top 100.
