Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College soccer program is pleased to announce that Katelyn Todd committed to attend Salem next fall. Todd was a four-year starting varsity defender for Coach Mike Sloan and Coach Uwe Ehrlich at Wilkes Central High School in Wilkesboro, NC. Salem is coming off of a 12-7-1 season in 2009, and a trip to the Great South Athletic Conference semi-finals.
Todd was recently selected as an all-conference and all-region defender after her high school senior season. She was chosen as a co-captain for Wilkes Central, and was awarded with the Coach's Award. She also played club soccer with the High Country Soccer Association in Boone, NC for Coach Kevin Lawrence.
Todd also had an impact academically at Wilkes Central. She was a member of the National Honors Society and she was in the Academic Booster Club. Todd plans to major in Exercise Science at Salem. She is the daughter of Karen and Michael Todd.
Salem College is a NCAA Division III institution located in Winston-Salem, NC. Salem is the oldest educational institution for women in the United States, and was founded in 1772. The institution boasts a proud history of fostering independence in women. Salem was recently ranked number 67 in Forbes magazines second annual ranking of America's 600 best colleges, and as Forbes' number fourteen in their "America's Best College Buys" Top 100.
