Soccer wins first ever GSAC match

Macon, GA- The Salem College soccer team won their first ever Great South Athletic Conference match in convincing fashion tonight against Georgia Wesleyan, 9-0. Erica Edwards (Clayton, NC) and Tori Collier (Raleigh, NC) each had two goals for the Spirits. Salem improves to 5-1-1 with the win.
Tia Bringhurst (Hurricane, UT) started the scoring just 75 seconds into the match and Salem never looked back. Tatum Justice (Jacksonville, NC), Courtney Sauer (Carthage, NC), Kim Wisen (Madison, OH) and Kellie Younger (Ledyard, CT) also scored goals for Salem. Michala Michaux (Morganton, NC) had two assists for the Spirits. Jazmine Bridgeman (Mill Spring, NC) and Brittany Tedrick (Batavia, OH) each played a half in goal to get the shutout.
Salem outshot Wesleyan 33-3, and had an 8-0 advantage in corner kicks. Salem plays their second GSAC match tomorrow at Agnes Scott at noon.
