Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College soccer team picked up their 10th win of the season with a 2-1 victory over Ripon College from Wisconsin. This marks the second time that Salem's soccer team has reached 10 wins in the past three seasons. Kim Wisen (Madison, OH) struck a shot that beat Ripon's goalie in the 87th minute. Salem improves to 10-6-1 with the victory.

The scoring started in the 26th minute when Salem scored on an own goal by Ripon. The goal happened because of the pressure put on by Tara Madden (Greenville, SC), which caused a Ripon defender to put it in their own net. Ripon would score a minute later to tie up the game. The first half was evenly played and ended at 1-1.

Salem picked up its play in the second half. Wisen blasted a shot by the goalie with just three minutes remaining for the win. Salem outshot Ripon 9-1 in the second half, and 15-8 in the game. Salem had four corners to one by Ripon, and Jazmine Bridgeman (Mill Springs, NC) picked up the win in goal.

Salem returns to action this Monday when they host Ferrum College in their final regular season game at 3:30. The game will also be Michala Michaux (Morganton, NC) and Tori Collier's (Raleigh, NC) seniorday.
