Winston-Salem, NC- The Salem College Soccer Team won its tenth consecutive game Sunday afternoon against Wesleyan College of Georgia by the score of 9-0. Liz Clem (FY, Merced, CA) scored four goals and assisted on another to help lead the Spirits to their 10-0-1 record. Michala Michaux (So., Morganton, NC) scored twice as well as single goals from Kimberly Wisen (FY, Madison, OH), Courtney Sauer (FY, Carthage, NC) and Tori Collier (So., Raleigh, NC). Amber Bryant (FY, Jonesville, NC) and Sauer had one assist each.

This was the fifth shutout of the season for the Spirits. Andrea Baldwin (Hudson, NC) was the goalkeeper in today’s victory. Only 3 shots were taken by the Pioneers of Wesleyan College (1-4) while Salem’s offensive surge of 51 shots kept Emily Epperson busy as she saved 20 shots while giving up nine goals.

"The team played much better today," said Coach Callahan. "We finish our offensive surges, our passing was more crisp and we took control of the game right away."

The Spirits will return to action next Sunday, October 7, at 2 pm to play Huntington College of Montgomery, Alabama.
