Atlanta, GA- Salem College played Spelman College in the first of two weekend games in Georgia. The Saturday afternoon game was a tough battle for the Spirits as they fell for the first time in the 2007 season by the score of 3-0 to Spelman (7-6-1).
After two Salem shots went off the goalposts within the first two minutes of the game, Spelman quickly scored as Amber Matthewson beat her defenders at 4:35 in the first half. Spelman’s Nailah Young scored two goals in the final 12 minutes to secure the win against Salem (12-0-1). Andrea Baldwin (FY, Hudson, NC) had nine saves for Salem.
