Spirits Defeat the Battling Bishops!

Rocky Mount, NC- Salem College played North Carolina Wesleyan College in the second game of this weekend’s classic in Rocky Mount. Liz Clem (Merced, CA) scored both goals for the Spirits (6-0-1) as Salem won the game 2-1. Andrea Baldwin (Hudson, NC) recorded 5 saves against the Battling Bishops (1-4) and Courtney Sauer (Cartage, NC) earned an assist on Clem’s first goal. The Spirits recorded 14 shots to NC Wesleyan’s 11.

“It feels great to beat a team with such a solid soccer tradition including a final four appearance,” said Head Soccer Coach Jay Callahan. “This was the highest level of competition we’ve played this year, and the team really stepped up to meet the challenge.”
