Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College soccer team lost to Methodist University today on a drenched field, 5-0. Salem kept the game tied until the end of the first half, but then gave up three quick goals to give Methodist a 3-0 lead at halftime. Salem's record drops to 7-6, while Methodist improves to 8-4.

Methodist had goals from Catherine Ramsay (29:15), Christine Ellington (31:35), Marissa Kuzbyt (42:42), Whitney Robertson (62:36), and Jillian Reed (68:26). Methodist outshot Salem 17-8.

"The score does not really show the way the game was played," said Head Coach Jay Callahan. "We gave up some really bad goals this game that deflated our team. We also had some good chances that we need to finish better. We have two remaining regular season games that we need to play better in to win."

Salem returns to the road to play Ferrum College on October 22 at 7:00.
