Macon, GA-The Salem College soccer team beat Wesleyan College 3-1 today. Tatum Justice (Jacksonville, NC) and Tori Collier (Raleigh, NC) contributed to all three goals. Salem improves to 6-3 with their 4th win in a row and Wesleyan drops to 3-5.

Justice started the scoring 50 seconds into the game when Collier slid a through ball into her. Justice would score again in the 42nd minute assisted by Collier. Salem went into halftime with a 2-0 lead.

Collier followed up a shot by Justice that hit the post to put the Spirits up three goals in the 78th minute. Lindsey Brichacek would find the net for Wesleyan with five minutes left. Salem outshot Wesleyan 34-9. Andrea Baldwin had 5 saves for Salem.

“We started out the game much quicker than yesterday,” said Head Coach Jay Callahan. “We still have to work on some key areas to improve, but I was proud of the teams overall effort on the weekend.”

Salem returns to the road on Friday, October 3rd as they travel to 7-1 Averett University in Danville,VA. The team returns home on October 5th against Wilson at 2:00.
