Fichthorn Has Strong Finish in Roanoke
Roanoke, VA-The Salem College cross country team finished in 8th place out of 14 teams in the Maroon Invitational hosted by Roanoke College this morning. Rachel Fichthorn (Nokesville, VA) finished in second place, and also was one of three runners to break the course record. Fichthorn finished the 5k course in 20:53, eight seconds behind the winner, Liz Mumaw (Roanoke College).
Julie Piernikowski (Potomac, MD) finished in 24th place overall, and Lauren Meek (Draper, VA) finished in 30th. Roanoke College was the overall winner with five runners in the top ten.
Salem heads to Greensboro next week for the Greensboro Invitational on September 27th at 1:00.
