Taylor wins first GSAC Basketball Player of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Great South Athletic Conference announced the winter sports week one Player of the Week on Wednesday morning and women’s basketball player Satavia Taylor (Chicago, IL) of Salem was selected as the winner through exclusive voting by the league sports information directors.

Taylor
had a huge weekend as the Spirits split two contests against Washington
College and Hollins University last weekend. She averaged 13 points per
game, 9 steals per game, 8.5 rebounds per game and two blocks per game
on the hardwood, including Salem’s second-ever triple-double with
12 points, 11 rebounds and 11 steals in the win over Hollins.
The GSAC sports information directors nominate Player of the Week candidates and then vote on the top two nominees in each sport as selected by the conference office. Player of the Week voting occurs on Tuesdays and the weekly announcement of the winners is released each Wednesday morning.
