Basketball crushes Warren Wilson in first home game

The Salem College basketball team exploded past the Owls of Warren Wilson 78-21 in the first home game of the season. Jasmine Shabazz (Buffalo, NY) led the Spirits with a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds. The Spirits improve to 3-1 this season, while the Owls drop to 2-2.

Jasmine Shabazz (Buffalo, NY) led the Spirits with a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds. The Spirits improve to 3-1 this season, while the Owls drop to 2-2. 

The Spirits led the entire game and went into the break with a 44-14 advantage. The Spirits shot 36.7% from the field and held the Owls to 15.0%.  Salem also forced 38 turnovers and out-rebounded Warren Wilson 49-26.

Satavia Taylor (Chicago, IL) continued her hot streak with 19 points and 3 blocks. Brandi Wilkey (Atlanta, GA) led the Spirits with 5 assists and 5 steals. Lilvia Bradbury led the Owls with 10 points and 6 rebounds.

Salem returns to action at home on Saturday at 2:00, when they host Southern Virginia in non-conference action.
