Basketball falls in Jackie Ammons Championship to Concordia 73-46

The Salem College basketball team fell in the Jackie Ammons Championship Game to Concordia College 73-46. Shamaz Denerson (Atlanta, GA) was selected to the all-tournament team after a 12 point performance in the championship game. Salem falls to 1-2 on the season with the loss.

basketballjackieammonsRaleigh, NC-The Salem College basketball team fell in the Jackie Ammons Championship Game to Concordia College 73-46. Shamaz Denerson (Atlanta, GA) was selected to the all-tournament team after a 12 point performance in the championship game. Salem falls to 1-2 on the season with the loss.

Concordia, who defeated Guilford in the first round, jumped out to a 38-23 lead at the half and were able to increase that advantage in the second half. Denerson also led the Spirits with 8 rebounds.

Jojo Hall (Concord, NC) capped off a strong tournament with 10 points and 3 assists. Tricia Sorenson led Concordia with 17 points.

Salem returns to action on November 21st when they host Wesleyan College in their first Great South game of the year at 7:00.
