Basketball dominates second half in win against Bennett

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College basketball team mounted a comeback at the beginning of the second half and never looked back in a 63-54 non-conference win against Bennett College. Amber Miller (Mebane, NC) led the Spirits with 14 points, 6 assists, and 14 rebounds. The Spirits improve to 2-13 on the season with the win.
Bennett led most of the way in the first half. Tianna Bennett scored 23 points to give Bennett a 35-31 advantage at the break.
In the second half, Bennett increased their advantage to 9 points. The Spirits picked up their defensive energy and closed out the half with a 32-14 advantage. Their defensive pressure caused Bennett's Bennett to go without a point in the second half.
Karoline Summerville (Charlotte, NC) had a season high 21 points for the Spirits. Zy Henderson (Spartanburg, SC) added 14 points.
Salem returns to Great South conference action this weekend as they travel to Piedmont and LaGrange.
