Denerson named to NCCSIA All-State Second Team for basketball

NC-Eleven players
representing ten different North Carolina Colleges and Universities have been
named to the 2010-11 North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) College Division All-State Teams. Shamaz Denerson
(Atlanta, GA) of Salem College was selected to the College Division All-State Second Team.
Denerson averaged 15.0 points per game and 8.1 rebounds per game this season. She was selected to the Great South Athletic All-Conference (GSAC) team and she was twice selected as the GSAC Basketball Player of the Week. Denerson joins Anna Trakas (Tryon, NC) from the Salem soccer team as the only two Salem athletes to make an all-state team in the past three years.
Marissa Hudley, of Queens, and JaToya Kemp, of UNC Pembroke, become three-time All-State selections, while Dana Hicks, of Catawba, and Kurie Washington, of Wingate, are two-time picks.
