Basketball loses to Peace on the road in a non-conference game

The Salem College basketball team dropped a non-conference game at Peace College, 65-47. The Spirits were not able to complete the series sweep of Peace after defeating the Pacers earlier in the season at home. Shamaz Denerson (Atlanta, GA) led Salem with 22 points and 2 rebounds. Salem falls to 6-15 overall, and Peace improves to 8-13.

Raleigh, NC-The Salem College basketball team dropped a non-conference game at Peace College, 65-47. The Spirits were not able to complete the series sweep of Peace after defeating the Pacers earlier in the season at home. Shamaz Denerson (Atlanta, GA) led Salem with 22 points. Salem falls to 6-15 overall, and Peace improves to 8-13.

The game was close in the first-half with Salem trailing at the half, 30-22. The Spirits were able to cut the lead to six with 17:30 left before Peace went on a 23-4 run over the next six minutes to put the game out of reach.

Amber Miller (Mebane, NC) led Salem with 7 rebounds. LaSashia Connelly (Morganton, NC) added 9 points. Karissa Herring led Peace with 18 points.

Salem returns to action this weekend with two very important Great South games at Spelman and Agnes Scott.
