Basketball drops conference game to speedy LaGrange

The Salem College basketball team lost a Great South Athletic Conference game against LaGrange, 117-75. Shamaz Denerson (Atlanta, GA) led Salem with 23 points. Salem falls to 6-14 overall and 4-8 in the conference, while LaGrange improves to 15-3 overall.

ambershootsWinston-Salem, NC-The Salem College basketball team lost a Great South Athletic Conference game against LaGrange, 117-75. Shamaz Denerson (Atlanta, GA) led Salem with 23 points. Salem falls to 6-14 overall and 4-8 in the conference, while LaGrange improves to 15-3 overall.

LaGrange hit twenty three-pointers in the game, including 14 in the first half to go into the break with a 67-39 advantage. Kelsey Rector (State Road, NC) finished with 16 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds. Amber Miller (Mebane, NC) scored 14 points and had 8 assists. Alex Wilson led LaGrange with 33 points, all of them from her 11 made three-pointers.

Salem returns to action on February 9th when they travel to Peace to try and get a season sweep at 7:00 pm.
