Basketball can't stay with fast paced Piedmont attack

The Salem College basketball team dropped a Great South Athletic Conference (GSAC) home game against Piedmont College, 92-49. Shamaz Denerson (Atlanta, GA) led the Spirits with 15 points. Salem falls to 6-13 overall and 4-7 in the GSAC, while Piedmont improves to 17-5 overall.

jojodefendWinston-Salem, NC-The Salem College basketball team dropped a Great South Athletic Conference (GSAC) home game against Piedmont College, 92-49. Shamaz Denerson (Atlanta, GA) led the Spirits with 15 points. Salem falls to 6-13 overall and 4-7 in the GSAC, while Piedmont improves to 17-5 overall.

Piedmont jumped out to an early 11-0 lead and would go into halftime with a 59-19 advantage. Salem was unable to cut into the Lions lead in the second half.

Stephanie Hubbard (Sanford, NC) and Jojo Hall (Concord, NC) each had 3 assists, and Hall finished with 7 rebounds. LaSashia Connelly (Morganton, NC) led Salem with 3 assists. Laura Simmons led Piedmont with 14 points.

The Spirits return to action when they host LaGrange in a GSAC game at 2:00 pm.
