Raleigh, NC- The Salem College basketball team lost their last regular season game of the season at Peace, 69-59. Michala Michaux (Morganton, NC) finished her regular season career at Salem with a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds. Salem drops to 9-13 overall, and Peace finished their season at 10-15.

The game was very close in the first half with no team gaining more than a 5 point advantage. Salem went into the half with a 38-35 advantage.

The Spirits would go on a 7-2 run to start the second half, and take an 8 point lead. Peace took their first lead of the half with 9:46 remaining, 50-49. Rachael Salmons (Yadkinville, NC) cut the Pacers lead back to one, 60-59, with 3:10 remaining. Peace scored the last nine points of the game.

Salem outrebounded Peace 49-43, but turned the ball over 28 times. Salmons finished with 10 points for Salem. Kelsey Rector (State Road, NC) led the Spirits with 17 points, and Lauren Redman (Lenoir, NC) added 11 points. Brenna Mickey led Peace with 17 points.

Salem will play in the Great South Quarterfinals this Tuesday at Piedmont College.
