Kansas City, MO- Kelsey Rector (State Road, NC) was selected to the All-Independent Association of Division III (AD3I) Honorable Mention basketball team for the second year in a row. Rector led the young Spirits to an 8-17 season, and was a team captain. She was selected to the Piedmont Baptist College All-Tournament team also this year.
Rector led the Spirits with 257 points (10.3 ppg) this season. She shot 32% from the field, and 31% from behind the three point line. She also played the most minutes (690), and had the most starts for the team (22). Rector averaged 2.6 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 1.1 steals per game on the season. Kayleigh Calandri, a senior guard from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and Erica Davis, a senior forward from the University of Maine, Presque Isle, were named the co-players of the year.
