February 9- Salem College traveled to Atlanta to play Agnes Scott College in a non-conference basketball game Friday evening. Salem jumped out to an 11-4 lead and then it was all Agnes Scott after that. Leading 41-27 at halftime, the Scotties extended their lead in the second half, winning by the score of 79-44. Salem shot only 26% for the game, helping end their eight game winning streak.
Salem’s Shakila Springs (Winston-Salem, NC) had 12 points and 6 rebounds while Lindsay Cross (Asheboro, NC) had 9 points and 8 rebounds.
Agnes Scott College (14-7 )was led by junior guard Evan Joslin with 17 points.
The Salem College Spirits (11-8) will play Spelman College in Atlanta on Sunday afternoon.
