Salem Drops a Close One in Atlanta
February 11- The Salem College Womens Basketball Team played Spelman College Sunday afternoon in a non-conference game. Despite leading most of the game, Salem dropped a 65-60 decision to Spelman College.
February 11- The Salem College Women’s Basketball Team played Spelman College Sunday afternoon in a non-conference game. Despite leading most of the game, Salem dropped a 65-60 decision to Spelman College.
Shakila Springs (Winston-Salem, NC) led the Spirits (11-8) in scoring with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Both Michala Michaux (Morganton, NC) and Lauren Redman each had 10 points while teammate Lindsay Cross (Asheboro, NC) had a solid game with 8 points and 14 rebounds.
Spelman College (7-11) was led by Kelly Haywood (18 points) and Ashley Covington (17 points).
Salem College will return to action Wednesday night as they host Bennett College at 7 pm in Winston-Salem, NC.
