Basketball drops Great South home game to LaGrange

The Salem College basketball team lost their second straight conference game at home to LaGrange 94-61. Shamaz Denerson (Atlanta, GA) had a game-high 23 points and she added 9 rebounds. Salem drops to 0-2 in the Great South and to 1-5 overall, while LaGrange improves to 2-0 in the GSAC and 5-2 overall.

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College basketball team lost their second straight conference game at home to LaGrange 94-61. Shamaz Denerson (Atlanta, GA) had a game-high 23 points and she added 9 rebounds. Salem drops to 0-2 in the Great South and to 1-5 overall, while LaGrange improves to 2-0 in the GSAC and 5-2 overall.

The Spirits kept the game close for the majority of the first half of play. The Panthers were able to use a late first half surge to go into the break with a 45-27 advantage.

Jojo Hall (Concord, NC) recorded 8 rebounds for the Spirits, while Zy Henderson (Spartanburg, SC) and Sontell Kennedy (Jackson, MS) each had 8 points for Salem. Katie Covington led the Panthers with 17 points and 9 rebounds.

The Spirits play their last game before the holiday break when they host William Peace University on December 7th at 7:00. The Spirits defeated the Pacers on November 18th in a close 53-52 game.
