Basketball dominates second half in win against Bennett

The Salem College basketball team mounted a comeback at the beginning of the second half and never looked back in a 63-54 non-conference win against Bennett College. Amber Miller (Mebane, NC) led the Spirits with 14 points, 6 assists, and 14 rebounds. The Spirits improve to 2-13 on the season with the win.

he Salem College basketball team lost their second game on their weekend Great South trip to Agnes Scott 66-41. Lasashia Connelly (Morganton, NC) led the Spirits with 12 points. Salem falls to 0-9 in conference and 0-13 overall, and Agnes Scott improves to 5-3 in conference and 6-9 overall.

The Salem College basketball team struggled from the field in their second straight loss to Wesleyan (GA) in a 59-44 game. Amber Miller (Mebane, NC) poured in 18 points to lead the Spirits. Salem falls to 1-12 overall and 0-8 in the conference.

The Salem College basketball team could not hang with the 18th nationally ranked Lions of Piedmont today at home in a 73-51 loss. Shamaz Denerson (Atlanta, GA) led Salem with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Salem falls to 0-6 in the Great South and 1-10 overall, and Piedmont improves to 5-1 and 13-1 overall.

The Salem College basketball team pulled off an impressive rally to force an overtime game, which they would drop to Spelman 61-58. Sarah Smith (Hays, NC) led Salem with 10 points and 12 rebounds in the Great South game. The Spirits fall to 1-9 overall and 0-5 in the GSAC, and Spelman improves to 1-8 and 1-5 in the GSAC.

The Salem College basketball team had a strong comeback bid against Agnes Scott, but fell in the end 53-45 to Agnes Scott in a Great South game. Sarah Smith (Hays, NC) and Shamaz Denerson (Atlanta, GA) each had 10 points for the Spirits. Salem falls to 0-4 in the Great South and 1-8 overall, while the Scotties improve to 2-2 and 3-8 overall.
