- The Salem College soccer team dropped their first Great South loss of the season on the road to Covenant College 1-0. The Scots scored an early goal and held on for the win. Salem falls to 6-3 overall and 2-1 in the GSAC, while Covenant improves to 8-1-1.
- Volleyball falls on road at Guilford
- The Salem College volleyball team dropped a non-conference road match to Guilford College's in 3 sets (25-22, 25-18, 27-25). Roslyn Nixon (Wilson, NC) led the Spirits with 12 kills in the match. Salem falls to 3-7 overall with the defeat.
- Olveda breaks personal 6K record at Charlotte Invitational
- The Salem College cross country team traveled to the Charlotte Invitational, and finished 13th in the Green 6K Women's Division. Natali Olveda (Salinas, CA) ran her personal best race and finished in 53rd in the division in 26:25.06.
- Volleyball can't avoid season sweep by Methodist
- The Salem College volleyball team could not avoid a season sweep by the Methodist Monarchs tonight on the road in a non-conference match. The Monarchs won in three sets by the score of 11-25, 11-25, 17-25. Salem falls to 3-6 overall with the loss.
- Ferguson Wins Second GSAC Soccer Player of the Week Honor
- Ferguson scored 3 goals to help Salem to a 2-0 week. She scored game-winning goals in road wins over Ferrum and Agnes Scott to help the Spirits to a 6-2 overall record and 2-0 in the GSAC. Ferguson scored twice against the Scotties in a come from behind 2-1 victory.

- Cross country finishes in 3rd at Warren Wilson
- The Salem College cross country team finished in 3rd place at the Warren Wilson Invitational, and they defeated Toccoa Falls College on the 5k course. Natali Olveda (Salina, CA) was the top finisher for the Spirits on the hilly course. She finished the course in 23:42, which was good enough for 4th overall.
- Volleyball storms by Wesleyan for 1st conference win
- The Salem College volleyball team stormed by Wesleyan College in 3 sets to pick up their first win in the Great South this season. The Spirits won the match 25-17, 25-18, 25-14. Roslyn Nixon (Wilson, NC) led the Spirits with 11 kills and 3 digs. Salem improves to 3-5 overall and 1-2 in the Great South.
- Soccer improves to 6-2 with win at Agnes Scott
- The Salem College soccer team came back from a halftime deficit to defeat Agnes Scott 2-1 in a Great South match. Sawyer Ferguson (Billings, MT) scored both goals in the win. Salem improves to 6-2 overall and 2-0 in the GSAC.
- Volleyball falls in Great South match at Agnes Scott
- The Salem College volleyball team lost a Great South conference match today at Agnes Scott in 3 sets. The score of the match was 15-25, 23-25, 18-25. Michelle Morgan (Chattanooga, TN) led the Spirits with 7 kills and a solo block. The Spirits fall to 0-2 in the GSAC and 2-5 overall with the loss.
- Basketball gets motivated watching Eric Thomas speak
- Members of the Salem College Basketball team received a huge energy boost from renowned motivational speaker, educator, author, activist and minister, Eric Thomas this past Tuesday on September 18, 2012. Thanks to Salem College Asst. Basketball Coach/Asst. Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs at Winston Salem State University, Theo Howard, the Lady Spirits were guest to host institution Winston-Salem State University and their Department of Athletics.
- Soccer wins in overtime at Ferrum
- Salem College soccer team defeated Ferrum College 2-1 in overtime. Tarryn Bundy (West Deptford, NJ) had one goal and assisted on the game-winning goal. The Spirits improve to 5-2 with the win.
- Volleyball picks up win against cross-town rival
- The Salem College volleyball team picked up a 4 set win against cross-town rivals Piedmont International in a non-conference match. The Spirits won the match 25-18, 16-25, 25-22, 26-24. Chelsea Jones (Glade Valley, NC) led the team with 29 set assists and 12 digs. The Spirits improve to 2-4 this season.

- Volleyball loses at home to Huntingdon and Methodist
- The Salem College volleyball team lost 2 matches at home to Huntingdon and Methodist. The Spirits fought hard in a tough 3-1 loss to Huntingdon (12-25, 25-18, 22-25, 23-25) in their first Great South match of the season. Methodist defeated Salem in 3 sets (11-25, 13-25, 17-25). Salem falls to 0-1 in the GSAC and 1-4 overall.
- Soccer picks up win in first conference match
- The Salem College soccer team defeated Spelman College 2-1 in their first Great South match of the year. The Spirits out-shot the Jaguars 13-7, including 7-2 shots on goal. Salem improves to 4-2 overall and 1-0 in the GSAC, and Spelman drops to 1-3 and 0-1.
- Ferguson Wins Great South Soccer Player of the Week
- Another first-year dynamo, Ferguson has scored 6 goals and added an assist in the Spirits first five games of the season. Her 13 points to date have propelled Salem to a 3-2 start to the season. Ferguson also tallied game-winning goals for the Spirits against Emory & Henry and William Peace to show a flair for the dramatic and earn Player of the Week honors.
- Volleyball splits on road and picks up 1st victory
- The Salem College volleyball team earned their 1st victory of the season as they stormed past Allen University in three sets (25-17, 25-11, 25-6). The Spirits dropped their 2nd match of the day to the host Livingstone College in 5 sets (17-25, 25-22, 6-25, 27-25, 10-15). The Spirits are now 1-2 this season.
- Basketball Assists Ronald McDonald House of Winston-Salem
- The Salem College basketball team volunteered to raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House of Winston-Salem. There were 15 basketball student-athletes present for the service project.
