Anna Walker Berry, Class of '04
Degree: Bachelor of Science, Biology
Currently: University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine
“Ever since I was little I’ve had a passion for medicine and a desire to be challenged. I first became interested in Salem because it’s near a teaching hospital and associated with Wake Forest School of Medicine. It took only one visit with Salem’s biology department to see that being in pre-med at a women’s college was the advantage I was seeking.
At Salem I found my voice. From my first visit students and professors really listened to me, freely sharing with me and giving me their full attention.
I am now a third-year medical school student at UNC-Chapel Hill. I also plan to pursue a Masters in Public Health from UNC between my third and fourth years of med school. This degree will help me better understand how my treatments impact the community.”
