Why you'll shine at Salem

Transfer Students

Undergraduate Transfer We always welcome young women who want to transfer as undergraduates to Salem College from another institution. You will be evaluated for admission based on your college-level work.

Undergraduate Transfer

We always welcome young women who want to transfer as undergraduates to Salem College from another institution.

You will be evaluated for admission based on your college-level work. However, you should also meet the requirements for freshmen admission, which include:

  • A school record that reflects completion of 4 credits of English, 2 credits of Foreign Language, 2 credits of History, 3 credits of Mathematics (including Algebra I, II, and Geometry), 3 credits of Science, and 3 credits of college preparatory curriculum.

  • Scores from the SAT I or ACT.

  • Extracurricular activities and information about your academic and personal qualifications.

What will you need to apply as a transfer to the undergraduate program?

  • An official transcript from each college you have attended [must be sent directly from each previous college].

  • A Dean's Release Form completed by the Dean of Students of the most recent college attended.

  • A minimum 2.0 grade point average out of a 4.0 scale for your completed college-level coursework.

  • A final transcript at the end of the semester for courses in which you are enrolled.

When should you apply?

Because Salem College uses a rolling admissions process, there are no formal deadlines for applying. However, we recommend that you apply by:

  • December 1 for January Term and Spring semesters

  • June 1 for Fall semester
