Why Salem College?

If you have ability, character, motivation, intellectual potential and want to study in a warm, welcoming overseas environment, then Salem College is for you!

We welcome students of all backgrounds and experiences, and are proud of the fact that approximately 13 percent of our 2007-08 students came from outside the United States.

A Great Location

Located in the Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina, Winston-Salem (population around 200,000) can be an exciting yet nurturing "home away from home." Called the City of the Arts, Winston-Salem has historic villages, a vibrant downtown with galleries and theatres and great shopping. You are never more than a few hours away from either the mountains or the beach, and several major cities (Charlotte and Raleigh) plus many colleges and universities are easily accessible.

The Piedmont Triad International Airport provides services to major U.S. cities and beyond, and Winston-Salem also has access to Amtrak train service and bus service.

Special Services

The Office of International Student Services at Salem College works with the Office of the Dean of Students to make sure you have a great experience at Salem, from helping you maintain your F-1 visa status to ensuring you make special friendships on campus. Many activities run by Salem's international students are much-anticipated parts of the social and cultural calendar on campus!

Your Health and Safety

Salem College has an excellent department of health and counseling services which provides care for acute illness, information and education on women's health issues, gynecological exams, allergy injections and referrals to offsite specialists. The College's department of public safety is fully staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year to ensure your general safety and well-being while you are on campus.
