Salem College is located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, a vibrant college town known as the “City of Arts and Innovation”. Position Summary:

Salem Academy and College invites applications for Technology Services Support Consultant who is responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and support of endpoint technology, applications, and connectivity. The Technology Services Support Consultant assists other Technology Services staff with classroom, office, and other technologies as needed. The Technology Services Support Consultant also works with Salem faculty, staff, and students, as well as with third parties as needed to support endpoint and classroom technologies. The Technology Services Support Consultant position requires strong active communications skills, patience, and excellent problem-solving ability. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Offer timely technical support and provide training as needed.
  • Support and maintain Windows and Macintosh computer equipment, iOS and Android mobile/tablet devices, and shared business printers.
  • Maintain endpoint applications and standard loads.
  • Manage repair of endpoint devices with third-party providers or internal staff as required. 
  • Assist the Network Manager in maintenance of networking equipment as needed.
  • Assist the Instructional Technologist and Student Help Desk team as needed to maintain or support classroom technology and special events.
  • Maintain asset management and inventory records for endpoint technology.
  • Document processes and procedures as needed.
  • Lift and carry 50lbs (between buildings and upstairs)
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years experience supporting Windows endpoint devices, printing services, and file sharing in a Microsoft Active Directory or Azure environment.
  • Experience coordinating trouble ticketing and/or equipment maintenance.
  • 1+ years experience in basic TCP/IP network support.
  • Demonstrable understanding of computer systems and IT components
  • Demonstrable understanding of safe computing practices, including internet security and data privacy principles
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizing and time-management skills.
  • AAS or other degree in Computer or Networking support or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA A+) will be an advantage.
  • Experience with Cisco ISE and Umbrella
  • MCSE or other Microsoft certifications.
Physical Requirements:

While performing the responsibilities of the Technology Services Support Consultant, the employee is required to sit for varying lengths of time; bend, reach, lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds; occasionally stand, walk, and kneel and regularly ascend/descend stairs; use hands and fingers to handle or feel and manipulate keys on a keyboard; perform extended periods of work at a computer workstation, view a computer monitor; perceive sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and receive detailed information through oral communication; express and exchange ideas by means of spoken word; and work in an office setting.
