Graduate Degree ProgramSalem College has a long and proud tradition of providing educational opportunity for women of all ages. We continue this tradition in offering graduate studies programs for women and men who seek career changes and/or advancement. At Salem College, we welcome prospective graduate students who are intellectually-curious, determined, and energetic; who place a priority on personal achievement; and who demand a highly-engaged and rigorous learning environment. Current offerings include Master of Arts in Teaching programs for those who seek to enter teaching. Salem College offers licensure programs that lead to Masters degrees in elementary, birth through kindergarten, special education, and teaching English to speakers of other languages; candidates who hold undergraduate degrees in any discipline are eligible for admission to the MAT. A preschool add-on license is available to teachers holding licensure in elementary, special education, or home economics. Licensure programs in middle grades and secondary English/language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies are open to those with appropriate undergraduate degrees. An M.Ed. program is offered to practicing teachers who wish to pursue graduate work in literacy development. Financial aid is available to candidates who are fully admitted to programs.
