The day began with almost 50 participating in "Yoga on Salem Square" at 8:30 a.m. That was followed by a bike ride to Salem Lake at 9:30 a.m.
That afternoon, the Salem community gathered on the steps of Main Hall at 1:30 p.m. to embark upon one of three "fitness walks" taking them through campus and into Old Salem and downtown.
The fitness trails were mapped and named by Salem students this summer, and are accessible here on the Salem College website.
Other wellness initiatives include bikes for students, an organic herb garden used by the dining services department, WII-fit systems for use, special speakers on wellness and and series of free classes entitled "Freeing the Body, Calming the Mind."
