Two fundraisers connected with Salem Academy and College, one a trustee, one a staff member, will be honored on Monday, November 23 during the Triad's 17th annual National Philanthropy Day (NPD) Awards Luncheon.

They are Ann Stone Hanes, member of Salem's Board of Trustees and chair of the just-completed combined campaign for Salem Academy and College -which raised $76 million - and Vicki Sheppard, vice president for institutional advancement at Salem.

The Triad's NPD event, sponsored by the N.C. Triad chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), will honor 15 nominees in 10 different categories who have worked tirelessly, in many different areas of need in their communities, to improve the lives of people. Hanes will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award while Sheppard will be named one of two Outstanding Fundraising Professionals for the Triad.

More than 400 community leaders are expected to attend the luncheon, which is co-sponsored by the Blue Cross & Blue Shield of North Carolina Foundation, The Business Journal, High Point Regional Health System, Moses Cone Health System Development Department and the Moses Cone Wesley Long Community Health Foundation.
