Novicki New Public Services Librarian
Elizabeth Novicki has joined the Salem College Library as public services librarian, according to director of libraries Dr. Rose Simon.
Novicki, who resides in East Bend, NC, began her duties on July 1. She will be responsible for providing research instruction, reference and interlibrary loan services for students, faculty and staff at Salem.
Novicki earned her B.A. degree in art history and a master’s degree in library and information studies from UNC Greensboro. She comes to Salem from Wake Forest University, where she has been library technician on the research, instruction and technology services team at Z. Smith Reynolds Library since 2005. She also served, beginning in 2008, as an adjunct professor in the library sciences and as the metadata coordinator of the library’s Digital Forsyth Project.
Previous work experience included serving as school media assistant for the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Public School System; as chairperson for the adolescent resource guide for the Junior League of Winston-Salem; and as project manager for The Gap Inc. in San Bruno, CA.
Novicki is a member of the American Library Association, the Association of College and Research Libraries and Beta Phi Mu, Library and Information Studies Honor Society.
