Salem College Dining Services Reusable To-Go Container Plan
How do I get a container?
Each residential college student receives an initial reusable to-go container at no charge from the dining hall during a designated time frame. Replacement containers are available for $5.
Other members of the Salem community may purchase a reusable to-go container for $5.
Students are issued one container to be used for their four years at Salem College.
What is the process for exchanging a used container for a sanitized container?
To-go containers are for those taking their meal out and should not be brought in and exchanged when planning to eat inside the dining hall. Bring in your container, exchange it, fill it with food and exit the dining hall.
Returned containers are given to an attendant at the check-in station in exchange for a sanitized container.
Can I bring my own container or cup instead of using the ones furnished by dining services?
In order to maintain health code sanitation standards, the use of personal reusable containers, including cups are not allowed.
May I take dining hall plates, cups or other utensils out of the dining hall?
All dining hall utensils must remain in the dining hall or club dining room at all times.
How do I care for the to-go container?
Empty contents in a trash can and rinse before returning to the dining hall for exchange.
Containers with food, defaced or damaged containers will not be accepted for exchange.
